1. Scope and who is responsible

This Privacy Policy applies to dynamodweep.com, the DynamoDweep Community and Pro desktop applications, and messages you send to Technodweep about DynamoDweep. In this policy, “Technodweep,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the maker and operator of DynamoDweep.

Third-party services—including Amazon Web Services, GitHub, Google Analytics, LocalStack, and any AI provider you choose—handle information under their own terms and privacy policies. This policy does not control their independent practices.

2. Information we handle

Website usage information

Our production website uses Google Analytics. It may receive information such as pages viewed, interactions, referring pages, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser and device type, operating system, and cookie or device identifiers. We do not ask Google Analytics to receive your DynamoDB credentials or database contents.

Messages and business enquiries

If you contact us, request Pro access, report an issue, or send feedback, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, company, message, and related technical details. Public GitHub issues and discussions are visible according to your GitHub settings.

Desktop app data and credentials

• Core app operation: the app communicates directly from your device with AWS DynamoDB, DynamoDB Local, LocalStack, or another endpoint you configure. Technodweep does not receive your database contents or queries as part of that core connection.
• Local app data: connection settings, preferences, query history, saved queries, repository models, and similar working data may be stored in the app-data directories on your device.
• Community credentials: if you choose static access keys, the Community edition currently stores connection data—including the secret—in a local connections.json file without encryption. Named AWS profiles or short-lived credentials are safer choices.
• Pro credentials: Pro stores access-key secrets and session tokens in your operating system’s credential store. Other connection metadata remains in local app files.
• No DynamoDweep account: the Community edition does not require a DynamoDweep account. The current desktop app does not include Technodweep-operated usage telemetry.

Optional AI-assisted workflows

If you deliberately select an AI-backed repository analysis or query-planning feature, the app or selected command-line agent may send prompts, repository excerpts, saved model context, table information, and your related instructions to the provider you configure. The local “No AI” heuristic does not send repository excerpts to an AI provider. Review selected files and provider settings before using an AI-backed option.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website and product;
• understand aggregate website use and diagnose performance problems;
• respond to questions, support requests, feedback, and Pro enquiries;
• provide requested downloads, licensing, or commercial services;
• prevent abuse and protect users, Technodweep, and others; and
• meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

Depending on where you live, our legal basis may be your consent, performance of a contract or requested pre-contract steps, our legitimate interests in operating and improving DynamoDweep, or compliance with law.

4. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose limited information:

• to service providers that help operate the website, analytics, communications, downloads, support, or future licensing and payments;
• to an AI or infrastructure provider when you choose and configure that integration;
• when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; or
• as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Google processes website analytics data for us. GitHub hosts project source code, releases, and issue tracking. AWS or another endpoint operator processes requests you initiate from the desktop app. Those companies may process information in countries other than yours.

5. Cookies and website analytics

Google Analytics may set or read cookies and similar identifiers to distinguish visits and produce usage reports. You can limit this through your browser’s cookie controls, privacy features, or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics cookies should not prevent you from reading the website or downloading Community.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including support, security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration and Google’s applicable controls. Enquiry records may be retained while we have an active business relationship or a reasonable need to refer to the conversation.

Data stored locally by the desktop app remains on your device until you remove it, uninstall the app and its app-data, or use an available deletion control. Data held by AWS, an AI provider, GitHub, or another third party follows that provider’s retention rules.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your computer, local app-data files, AWS profiles, access keys, AI-provider credentials, and any backups or exports you create.

Use least-privilege AWS permissions, prefer temporary credentials or named profiles, review changes before writing to a live table, and never place secrets in public issues or support messages.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information we control, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

To make a request, contact us using the link below and describe the information or interaction involved. We may need to verify your identity. We cannot directly fulfil requests for information held only on your device or controlled independently by another provider.

9. Children’s privacy

DynamoDweep is a developer tool intended for professional and technical users. It is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide an additional notice where reasonably appropriate.
